This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in San Antonio. I like Tex mex over the traditional Mexican restaurant style so this by far is my favorite. I’m from austin so each time I come here I always drive thru for home made tortillas and the beef fajitas are so good I also enjoy the crispy tacos. My husband had the macho burrito and it was huge and delicious. The queso was great and if you like sweet tea you will love this. Recommend this place for sure I have not tried the other locations

This Las Palapas has become my go to Mexican restaurant. The stuffed avocado in the salad section of the menu is absolutely amazing- I love LOVE the chicken stuffed avocado. The wait staff have always been courteous and very helpful. Always a nice welcoming restaurant experience. Logan goes out of his way to give us an excellent dining experience.

Friendly, happy service! Waiter had a good attitude with great service. Food was delicious. I ordered the flauta plate with sweetened ice tea and I loved it! I will definitely go back there again!

Visited on July 21st around 730pm and like always good consistent quality food and drink. We ordered the taco salad chicken bowl and crispy taco plate. Very tasty and quality ingredients but what made it enjoyable were the wait staff and the manager who were super attentive and just plain personable and courteous. Kudos to the whole team this night. They even replaced my margarita for a fresh batch! Recommend 100%. Update** revisit and gotta say whoever is back in the kitchen know what they doing! Keep it up LP.

The food at this location is really good. I got the soup combo which came with half stuffed avocado and tortilla soup. It was so good. My husband got the Palapa special (2 cheese enchiladas and beef fajitas, rice and beans and flour tortillas) and he enjoyed it. The kids enchilada meal was just the right portion for my son.

I have been coming to this restaurant for many years now, and throughout my visits, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many of the staff. One person who has stood out to me is a busser I met during one of my more recent visits. From the very first interaction, it was clear that he is exceptionally polite, kind, and respectful. Every time I see him, he greets me warmly and genuinely, making each visit feel even more welcoming and special. He is absolutely lovely to talk to — always friendly, attentive, and thoughtful in the way he engages with customers. He even takes the time to explain different parts of the menu to me in a way that is easy to understand and inviting. Thanks to his wonderful recommendations and thorough explanations, I’ve tried and enjoyed dishes I probably never would have thought to order on my own. Employees like him are rare, and I truly believe he deserves a raise or even a higher position within the restaurant. His dedication to customer service, his respectful nature, and his positive attitude not only improve the dining experience but also reflect extremely well on Palapas as a whole. I sincerely wish there were more workers like him — people who bring genuine kindness and care into every interaction.
